Okuno Karuta pavilion
This establishment mainly sells “Karuta Cards”, which create a traditional Japanese card game, but they are also known to hold exhibitions. They have Hyakunin Isshu(one hundred poems by one hundred famous poets), Kyodo Karuta(regional history cards) and Hanafuda(flower cards) cards, but are only open during August.
OSAKAYA
With a history of over one hundred years, OSAKAYA continues to make furniture using a traditional technique called “Karuizawabori (Karuizawa Carving)”. They also sell accessories and goods incorporating more modern designs and colours.
